Sell us a lot in Lynn Park.
A few blocks of 1949 ranch houses south of Westheimer, beside Highland Village, where the lots are deep and the one-storey houses have been making way for two since the late 1990s. Our next house is on Markham.
The neighbourhood
The Highland Village shops opened on Westheimer in the mid-1940s, a few years before the first Lynn Park houses were built.
- Where
- South of Westheimer, either side of Weslayan, on streets like Suffolk, Drexel, Branard, Colquitt and West Main, with the railway line on the east.
- Lots
- Typically 7,000 to 9,000 sq ft, platted in the late 1940s for one-storey ranch houses. Many are now the lot under a new two-storey house.
- Rules
- A civic association with an architectural review committee looks at setbacks, materials and design before you build. The recorded restrictions come from the Harris County Clerk, and we read them before we price a lot.
- Nearby
- Highland Village and Central Market on Westheimer, the Galleria under two miles away, and the River Oaks Elementary, Lanier and Lamar school zone.
- Water
- Flood risk is checked lot by lot on the FEMA map. Chapter 19 applies if the lot touches the 500-year floodplain.
What we look for here
A 7,000 sq ft lot or bigger with a 1950s ranch on it, anywhere in the subdivision. We'd like our house on Markham to have company.
